Lovely Location and Wonderful Experience!

room upgrade sea view comfortable bed
The hotel gave me a room upgrade upon arrival! It was a room with a wonderful sea view. The bed was comfortable. I liked tasty food in the restaurant and its good value.
My lunch menu did not include chips. A side of mashed potato was available with my burger, but not chips. I thought this was a bizarre menu option.

The communal areas looked fine. I saw open fires. One was lit when I was there. This place makes a great base to enjoy coastal walks.

coastal walks and castle charm!

amazing location classy touch
the location is fine, offering easy access to coastal walks. the artwork is notable (inspired by monet). i was pleased with the clean and warm atmosphere throughout the hotel. i already want to return for another mini-break!
the food was overpriced, but the eateries in the area are comparable. i read noise complaints, and antiquated plumbing was a bit disturbing. the walls are thin, so you can hear everything.

mostly positive stay

helpful staff friendly staff magical location warm welcome strange smell tiny shower poor maintenance
the location was definitely a plus! it seemed like being on a movie set, magical. all the staff were really helpful and friendly. i even got to meet one of the owners, and it seemed like i was being welcomed into their family!!!
my room wasn't perfect, to be honest. the bathroom had a bit of a strange smell coming from the drain, a bummer. the shower was also surprisingly tiny, a little awkward to use. i think with some updates, it could be much better though!

dirty chairs tiny plastic bathroom
The location was right on the coast path.
Our bedroom, a Classic Twin Room with Sea View, was tired. It had badly fitting carpet and old DIRTY chairs. The bathroom was one of those tiny plastic pre-fabricated pods you would find in a ferry cabin. It smelt weird. All ablutions were an unpleasant cramped experience.
